SUMMARY:In-Person Open House for Billings Bypass
DESCRIPTION:The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is hosting an in-person open house and a virtual public meeting to update the public on the status of the design and construction of the Billings Bypass arterial roadway that will connect Lockwood and Billings Heights. Both virtual and in-person options will provide the same information; the public is invited to attend whichever is their preference. \nThe in-person open house will be held Tuesday\, Nov. 9\, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Montana Pavilion at Metra Park\, 308 6th Ave N\, Billings\, MT 59101. \nBoth meetings will provide the same information and will address the following updates for the project: \nSchedule Update: The Railroad Overpass segment is now scheduled for construction in 2022. This adjustment will allow for public use of the new river crossing after the completion of the Railroad Overpass using a temporary connection to Coulson Road. Construction of the Johnson Lane Interchange has been moved to 2023 to allow for additional property owner coordination. This schedule update is not anticipated to impact the overall project completion date. \nDesign Update: An update to the ongoing Johnson Lane Interchange is planned to include a four-way intersection to provide easy access to the Frontage Road. The project is planned to include work on adjacent streets to improve traffic flow through the interchange. This will include the widening of Johnson Lane and Old Hardin Road and realignment work on Sannon Boulevard\, Cole Street\, Becraft Lane\, and North Frontage Road. \nFor more information on the Billings Bypass project\, to view the construction camera\, and learn about the specific project segments\, please visit: https://www.mdt.mt.gov/pubinvolve/billingsbypass/. \nComments\, questions or concerns can be directed to billingsbypass@dowl.com or by calling the Billings Bypass public involvement team at (406) 294-9668. \nThe Department of Transportation will make reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities who wish to participate in this event or need an alternative accessible format of this notice. If you require an accommodation\, contact the Department of Transportation no later than November 8\, to advise us of the nature of the accommodation that you need.
