Better Off in Billings Mural Paint the Pub

July 9, 2019 @ 7:30 am - 10:00 pm

Join us, Tuesday, July 9th (7:30 -11:00 am & 5:00 – 10:00 pm) to paint the pub!

Big Sky Economic Development, Better Off in Billings Brand, in partnership with Downtown Billings Alliance, The Pub Station, and RotarAction hosted a spring Mural competition with the Billings Career Center. Students who chose to participate were tasked with creating a mural design that depicted what this phrase meant to them “What makes you proud to be in Billings”, keeping in mind the terms Better Off in Billings and There’s Space for You Here. The winning design will be painted onto The Pub Station and the student was awarded $500. DBA and RotarAction were awarded a Space2Place grant to help fund the project.

The Pub Station kindly donated one of their alley outer facing walls to this project, Downtown Billings and Big Sky Economic Development were the leads in organizing the competition, hosting a selection committee to choose the winning design, and will facilitate (with the winning student) the painting of the mural that will be done by RotarAction in the later part of the Summer.

The winning mural design was created by Career Center student, Noah Woodring. Noah is a junior student in Russell Walks graphic design class.

Friday, May 24th, Big Sky Economic Development (Steve Arveschoug, Karen Baumgart, and Marcell Bruski), Downtown Billings Alliance (Molly Schiltz), The Pub Station (Kerry Sherman), and Billings Career Center (Scott Anderson, Russell Walks) awarded Noah Woodring with his award certificate and $500 check. For Noah, this is a great work-based learning opportunity to take his design concept and make it a mural.
